How it works
Moxfizz CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Moxfizz CV Dry Syrup?
Moxfizz CV Dry Syrup can sometimes interact with other medications or substances. Always inform your child's doctor about all other medications they are currently taking before starting Moxfizz CV Dry Syrup. Additionally, it is crucial to consult your child's doctor before administering any medication to them.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Moxfizz CV Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics are generally not associated with negative interactions or adverse reactions when combined with vaccines. However, it is essential for children taking antibiotics to delay vaccination until they have fully recovered from any illness before administering the vaccine. Once your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Moxfizz CV Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
During prolonged treatment with Moxfizz CV Dry Syrup, periodic monitoring of kidney and liver function tests may be conducted to assess your child's overall condition.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Moxfizz CV Dry Syrup to my child?
It is strongly advised not to exceed the prescribed dosage of this medication. Elevating the dose can potentially increase the risk of adverse effects. If your child experiences worsening symptoms, consult their doctor for reassessment.
Can I stop giving Moxfizz CV Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
It is not advisable to discontinue Moxfizz CV Dry Syrup without completing the full course prescribed by your child's doctor, even if their symptoms show improvement. The medication might still be providing beneficial effects while the infection is being fully cleared from the body.
Can the use of Moxfizz CV Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Moxfizz CV Dry Syrup can induce diarrhea as it is an antibiotic that eliminates harmful bacteria. It can also disrupt the balance of helpful bacteria in your child's stomach, leading to diarrhea. Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids if experiencing diarrhea. If this persists and you notice signs of dehydration (reduced urination, dark-colored and strong-smelling urine), consult with your doctor before administering any other medication.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Typically, bacterial infections do not arise from viral colds. Administering antibiotics unnecessarily can increase the risk of adverse effects and side effects for your child's condition. Only use antibiotics after consulting with your child's doctor.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green nasal mucus does not necessarily indicate a need for antibiotics. During the common cold, mucus changes from clear to yellow or green in consistency. Symptoms typically last 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
In case of severe allergic reactions (breathing difficulty, skin rash), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), and liver damage (weakness, pallor, vomiting) consult your child's doctor immediately. These side effects are rare but necessitate expert intervention.
