Syrup
Moxbro-CV DS Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Never give Moxbro-CV DS Syrup to your child until and unless prescribed by the doctor. You must also never share your child’s medicine with anyone else even if they show similar symptoms.
No common side effects listed.
Moxbro-CV DS Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Your child may have a bitter taste in the mouth after the intake of Moxbro-CV DS Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Moxbro-CV DS Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not give Moxbro-CV DS Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses.
Moxbro-CV DS Syrup may interact with other medications. Tell your doctor about all the medications your child is taking before starting Moxbro-CV DS Syrup, and check with your child's healthcare professional for guidance on any new medications or supplements.
Antibiotics generally do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines. However, children taking antibiotics should postpone vaccination until they recover from their illness. After your child feels better, the vaccine can be administered.
For prolonged therapy, periodic kidney and liver function tests may be recommended to monitor your child's overall health. These are often performed during follow-up appointments with the doctor.
Giving a higher than recommended dosage of this medication can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences increased symptoms, consult their doctor for a review and possible adjustment in dosage.
No, do not discontinue Moxbro-CV DS Syrup unless the full course of treatment is complete. Even if your child shows improvement, continuing the medication may be necessary as it might still be delivering beneficial effects.
Yes, Moxbro-CV DS Syrup can cause diarrhea due to its antibiotic nature. Additionally, the medicine may affect the good bacteria in your child's stomach, leading to diarrhea. Encourage your child to drink fluids like water if they experience this side effect. Consult your doctor if diarrhea persists and you notice any signs of dehydration such as reduced urination with dark-colored and strong-smelling urine.
Most common colds do not lead to bacterial infections. Using antibiotics when there is a viral infection can increase the risk of side effects and complications. Only use antibiotics after consulting your child's doctor if there are signs of a serious bacterial infection.
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily indicate a bacterial infection. During a common cold, mucus tends to thicken and change color, often from clear to yellow or green. These symptoms typically last for 7-10 days.
You should contact your child's doctor immediately if they experience signs of a serious allergic reaction (breathing problems, skin rash), gastrointestinal distress (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, pale skin, vomiting). These side effects are uncommon but require professional attention.
