Introduction
Moxbase CV Kid 200mg/28.5mg Tablet is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Directions for Use
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
How it works
Moxbase CV Kid 200mg/28.5mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Moxbase CV Kid 200mg/28.5mg Tablet?
Moxbase CV Kid 200mg/28.5mg Tablet may interact with some other medicines or substances. It's important to inform your child's doctor about all medications your child is taking before starting Moxbase CV Kid 200mg/28.5mg Tablet, and always check with your doctor before administering any medication to your child.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Moxbase CV Kid 200mg/28.5mg Tablet?
Antibiotics typically don't interfere with vaccines or cause adverse reactions in children who are already vaccinated. However, it is best to avoid vaccination until your child has fully recovered from any illness before giving them another shot. If you notice any signs of improvement, the vaccine can be administered as soon as your child feels better.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Moxbase CV Kid 200mg/28.5mg Tablet on a long-term basis?
Periodically, to monitor the child's condition, the doctor may order kidney and liver function tests during prolonged therapy with Moxbase CV Kid 200mg/28.5mg Tablet.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Moxbase CV Kid 200mg/28.5mg Tablet to my child?
Giving a dose higher than the prescribed dosage can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences worsening symptoms, consult your doctor for reevaluation.
Can I stop giving Moxbase CV Kid 200mg/28.5mg Tablet to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
No, do not discontinue Moxbase CV Kid 200mg/28.5mg Tablet without first completing the full course of treatment. The symptoms may improve before the infection is fully cleared. Therefore, continue the medication according to the prescribed duration for complete effectiveness.
Can the use of Moxbase CV Kid 200mg/28.5mg Tablet cause diarrhea?
Yes, Moxbase CV Kid 200mg/28.5mg Tablet can lead to diarrhea. This is because it kills harmful bacteria in your child's body. Moreover, the medicine can affect the beneficial bacteria in their stomach and trigger diarrhea. Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids if they experience diarrhea. If diarrhea persists, consult your doctor for advice regarding dehydration, which may involve changes in urination frequency or color. Do not give any other medication to your child without consulting a doctor.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
It's rare that bacterial infections follow viral ones. Antibiotics are only necessary if there is evidence of a bacterial infection, not just a viral one, or if the doctor recommends them.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green nasal discharge does not necessarily mean that antibiotics are needed during a common cold. During a common cold, mucus often thickens and changes color from clear to yellow or green. Symptoms usually last for 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
Call your child's doctor immediately if they experience severe allergic reactions (breathing difficulties, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting). These are rare but serious side effects requiring expert intervention.
