How it works
Mont LC Syrup contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. Frequently asked questions
My child has a persistent cough along with allergic symptoms. Can I give cough and allergy medicine together?
No. Do not mix cough and allergy medicines because they usually both contain similar ingredients. Mixing these medications may result in double dosing of the active ingredients, leading to potential serious side effects.
Can I decrease the dose of Mont LC Syrup by myself if my child starts to feel better?
No, adhere to the prescribed dose as recommended by your child's doctor. Never increase or decrease the dose by yourself, as this could negatively impact your child's health. While increasing the dose may lead to unwanted side effects like sedation and depression, decreasing the dose or stopping it suddenly can result in rebound reversal of all symptoms.
How should Mont LC Syrup be stored?
Mont LC Syrup should be stored at room temperature away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep all medications out of the reach and sight of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
Can Mont LC Syrup make my child sleepy?
Mont LC Syrup may cause mild drowsiness in some children, leading to sleepiness. However, it should not be used to induce sleep. Forced sleep might mask any underlying sleep disorders like insomnia.
My child is an athlete and has a sports event in the next two days. Can I start the course of Mont LC Syrup?
No, do not begin Mont LC Syrup without first consulting your child's doctor. This medication can negatively impact their performance by causing mild sedation, dizziness, and sleepiness. It is essential to discuss this with your child’s doctor before starting any treatment.
Can I stop the medicine by myself?
No, you should never abruptly discontinue Mont LC Syrup without consulting your child's doctor. Stopping the medication suddenly may lead to a rebound of symptoms. It is advised to discontinue this medication gradually under your child’s doctor’s guidance.
My child is suffering from a mood disorder. Is it safe to give Mont LC Syrup to my child?
Mont LC Syrup may trigger or worsen mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, shakiness, and difficulty controlling body movements in some children. Before administering any medication to your child, please consult with a medical professional.
Can I use Mont LC Syrup for treating acute asthma attacks in my child?
