Monokast AB Tablet SR is a combination of two medicines: Acebrophylline and montelukast. It helps prevent and treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) by relaxing the muscles of the air passages and making it easier to breathe. It is also used to treat bronchitis. The medicine is available in the form of Tablet IR.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Monokast AB Tablet SR may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Monokast AB Tablet SR is a combination of two medicines: Acebrophylline and montelukast. Acebrophylline is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist that works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. Store Monokast AB Tablet SR in its original container at room temperature, tightly sealed. Follow the instructions on the packaging label or medication box. Do not discard unused medicine down the drain or dispose of it in any way that could be harmful to pets, children, or others.
