Suspension
Mflox Suspension is an antibiotic medicine commonly given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections. It is also a part of the multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) treatment regimen. The medicine is available in suspension form and is used to target various parts of the body, including the eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, skin, abdomen, and urinary tract.
Mflox Suspension should be given as directed by your child's doctor. Do not panic if you forget to give the medicine, but instead, consult your doctor for guidance.
Mflox Suspension is an antibiotic that interferes with the genetic material of bacteria by implanting defects in its DNA. This hampers the multiplication of the bacteria and affects its survival, ultimately killing the infection-causing bacteria and preventing the infection from spreading.
Do not panic if you forget to give the medicine, but instead, consult your doctor for guidance Do not double the dose to catch up Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Mflox Suspension Encourage your child to drink plenty of water if diarrhea develops as a side effect Discontinue Mflox Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing
Giving an extra dose of Mflox Suspension by mistake is unlikely to cause harm. However, if you suspect that your child has taken an excessive amount, please contact their doctor immediately. In rare cases, overdose may lead to symptoms such as seizures, tremors, severe headaches, sudden weakness, unconsciousness, and palpitations (irregular heartbeat). If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical attention right away.
If your child's condition does not improve after using Mflox Suspension as directed, it may indicate that the medicine is ineffective against the infection-causing bacteria. In this case, consult with their doctor, who may prescribe a different antibiotic that is more effective. Not all medicines are given orally; some may require intravenous administration in a hospital setting.
Mflox Suspension can interact with other medications or substances. Before starting treatment with Mflox Suspension, inform your child's doctor about any other medications they are currently taking. Additionally, consult with their doctor before administering any new medication to your child.
Antibiotics typically do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have recently been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should wait until they recover from the illness before receiving a vaccination. Once your child feels better, the vaccine can be administered.
Inform their doctor if your child has any pre-existing medical conditions, such as heart disease, genetic disorders involving blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photodermatitis (sensitivity to sunlight), neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. This is because Mflox Suspension may exacerbate these conditions and lead to complications.
