Metrelax 25 Tablet is a short-acting beta blocker that works specifically on the heart. It works by slowing down the heart rate and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.
It may cause dizziness. If this happens to you, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. It can hide symptoms of low blood sugar if you are diabetic. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly. Do not stop taking Metrelax 25 Tablet suddenly as it can cause your blood pressure to rise suddenly, thereby increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Metoprolol Succinate is an extended-release form of Metoprolol, which means it is released into your body slowly and only needs to be taken once a day. In contrast, Metrelax 25 Tablet is an immediate-release tablet that does not stay in your body as long, requiring multiple doses in a day.
Metrelax 25 Tablet is effective when used as directed by your doctor. It is essential to continue taking the medication even if you experience improvement in your condition, as stopping treatment too early may lead to a return or worsening of symptoms.
Both Metrelax 25 Tablet and Metoprolol Succinate are effective, but they may be better suited for different conditions. Metoprolol Succinate is more effective for treating heart failure, and it may also be less likely to cause certain side effects compared to Metrelax 25 Tablet.
If you miss a dose of Metrelax 25 Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, take it in the regular schedule instead of taking the missed dose. Avoid doubling the dose to make up for the missed one, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
It is not recommended to consume alcohol while taking Metrelax 25 Tablet, as it may increase the risk of drowsiness and dizziness. However, you may consult your doctor if you have any concerns regarding the use of alcohol with Metrelax 25 Tablet.
In some cases, Metrelax 25 Tablet may be switched to Metoprolol Succinate. Metoprolol Succinate may be preferred for its once-daily dosing. Consult a doctor to determine your treatment options and to determine what suits you best.
Metrelax 25 Tablet should not be taken if you experience very low heart rates, low blood pressure, or severe heart failure. It is essential to discuss your medical history with a doctor to determine if you should be on Metrelax 25 Tablet or not.
Avoid consuming alcohol and certain medications while taking Metrelax 25 Tablet, as they may increase the risk of adverse effects. Some medications, including calcium channel blockers, certain antidepressants, and those processed in a similar way as Metrelax 25 Tablet, may interact with Metrelax 25 Tablet.
Metrelax 25 Tablet should not be used in pregnancy, unless the benefits clearly outweigh the risks. Not enough studies have been conducted to show that these medications are 100% safe during pregnancy. Consult a doctor if you are planning a baby, pregnant, or breastfeeding to avoid any harmful effects on the baby.
