Metopar Tablet is used in the treatment of migraine, preventing pain signals and fever associated with migraine, and blocking certain substances in the brain that trigger nausea or vomiting during migraine headaches.

Introduction:
Metopar Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.

How to Use:
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Metopar Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it Works:
Metopar Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Metoclopramide and Paracetamol. Metoclopramide is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also increases the movement of the stomach and intestines allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. This prevents nausea and vomiting caused due to migraine. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever associated with migraine.

  • Avoid loud music and noisy places.
  • Avoid chocolates, cheese, processed food, alcohol, and smoking.
  • Get sufficient sleep and avoid stress.

Alcohol Warning:
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Metopar Tablet.

Pregnancy Warning:
Metopar Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breastfeeding Warning:
Metopar Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
