Methpen 1500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12 that restores its level in the body thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems. It is used to treat deficiency of vitamin B12 in the body. Vitamin B12 is important for growth, cell reproduction, blood formation, and protein and tissue synthesis. It also helps to treat anemia, fatigue, and numbness or tingling in the hands and feet.

Methpen 1500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required by the body to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and utilizing vitamin B11 (folate).
You can obtain Vitamin B12 from various sources, such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. While individuals following vegetarian or vegan diets may have difficulty obtaining Vitamin B12 due to its absence in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Consequently, deficiency of Vitamin B12 is more common in these groups.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, decreased appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells are abnormally large). It may also result in nerve problems such as tingling or numbness in the hands and feet. Other potential symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency include balance problems, depression, confusion, dementia, memory impairment, and soreness in the mouth or tongue.
Methpen 1500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects may occur, such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash. If a rash occurs, discontinue use immediately.
Methpen 1500mcg Injection can be administered intravenously (directly into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The usual dose is one ampoule (0.5 mg of Methpen 1500mcg Injection), which is given three times per week. After two months, administer one ampoule (0.5 mg of Methpen 1500mcg Injection) every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
Avoid injecting the medication at the same site each time. If experiencing intense pain during injection, or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert at a different location.
