You have been prescribed Metasens 500 Tablet SR to control the blood sugar level and reduce the risk of diabetic complications such as heart attacks. Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) may occur when taken along with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or on delaying/skipping a meal. Carry a sugar source with you for immediate relief. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing, persistent nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain as Metasens 500 Tablet SR may cause a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis, which is an excess of lactic acid in the blood.
People with type 2 diabetes have difficulty producing or responding to insulin, which leads to high blood sugar levels. Metasens 500 Tablet SR helps control this by several mechanisms: It decreases glucose production from the liver and intestinal absorption after eating. Additionally, it improves body sensitivity towards insulin, facilitating glucose uptake. This medication aids in better insulin response from natural sources.
