Metaril O Oral Suspension is usually given to children to treat acute diarrhea caused due to bacterial infections. It helps relieve the symptoms, severity, and duration of illness by killing the diarrhea-causing microorganism and reducing the loss of water and electrolytes.
Give Metaril O Oral Suspension only for whom it is prescribed. Never share the medicines as it can harm. Do not mix Metaril O Oral Suspension along with any other herbal or ayurvedic medicine as that may cause unwanted side effects.
Metaril O Oral Suspension contains two medicines: Racecadotril and ofloxacin. Racecadotril is an enkephalinase inhibitor that reduces the secretion of water and electrolytes from the intestine, while ofloxacin is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and causing infection.
Loose, watery diarrhea can lead to loss of fluids and essential salts from your child's body. Make sure to replenish this in the form of ORS (Oral rehydration solution) to combat dehydration. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Metaril O Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Give Metaril O Oral Suspension only for whom it is prescribed. Never share the medicines as it can harm. Do not mix Metaril O Oral Suspension along with any other herbal or ayurvedic medicine as that may cause unwanted side effects. Do not give Metaril O Oral Suspension if your child has persistent uncontrolled vomiting as this medicine will not be absorbed.
