Merenerve Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is essential for making red blood cells and maintaining a healthy nervous system, as well as releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Vitamin B12 is commonly found in meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. Vegans or vegetarians may have difficulty obtaining enough vitamin B12 from their diets because it is not naturally present in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, deficiency of Vitamin B12 is often observed in vegans or vegetarians.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormal increase in red blood cells). Additionally, it may lead to nerve problems, such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness in the mouth or tongue.
Merenerve Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, some individuals may experience rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash. If a rash develops, discontinue the medication immediately.
Merenerve Injection can be administered intravenously or intramuscularly. The usual dose is 0.5 mg of Merenerve Injection and is administered three times a week. After two months, the dosage becomes 0.5 mg every one to three months as part of long-term maintenance therapy.
Do not repeat injection at the same site on a regular basis. If you experience intense pain during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert at a different location.
