Introduction
Melose Injection is a viscoelastic preparation used in eye surgery to support and protect the deeper layers of the eye from damage. It provides a protective barrier shielding delicate eye tissues such as the cornea and lens from potential damage caused by surgical instruments and acts as a lubricant reducing friction and facilitating smoother movements during the surgery. It is well-tolerated and does not usually cause any side effects, but may cause a transient rise in intraocular pressure after the surgery. The doctor will carefully monitor intraocular pressure especially during the immediate postoperative period and treat with the appropriate therapy in case of significant rise.
