Melboost 5mg Solution is a repigmenting agent. It works by causing migration of skin cells (melanocytes) from the area of skin surrounding the vitiligo patch. This in turn causes the production of melanin (skin darkening pigment) and restores the skin color.
Melboost 5mg Solution helps restores skin complexion in people with vitiligo. It may take up to 4 months to complete treatment. Keep using the medication as prescribed. Apply it in a thin layer to the pigmented areas of skin and rub in gently. It can make your skin more sensitive to sun. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. It may also cause changes in the color of your untreated skin. Talk to your doctor if this bothers you. Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve after 1 month of treatment.
Use Melboost 5mg Solution exactly as directed by your doctor. Read the instructions carefully before using. Clean and dry the affected area thoroughly and then apply the lotion as a very thin film. For best results, apply it about 2 hours before retiring at night. Avoid touching the treated patches for about an hour. The next morning, expose the patches to bright sunlight for 10-15 minutes. If it is not possible to expose to sunlight, you can use ultraviolet lamps.
Melboost 5mg Solution increases the growth of cells that produce pigment (melanocytes) in the affected area. It also helps these melanocytes to migrate to the area, thus restoring skin complexion.
Melboost 5mg Solution is generally considered safe when used as prescribed. No serious side effects or contraindications have been reported. If you experience any side effects after applying the lotion, consult your doctor immediately.
The duration of treatment depends on the response to treatment. The response is typically faster in children or if used in recently developed patches. Normally, re-pigmentation can be seen on the borders or inside the white patch (as dots of pigment) in 3 to 6 months, depending on the age of the white patch. In most cases, full re-pigmentation may take a year.
There is currently no cure for vitiligo. Sometimes, the patches may disappear on their own. However, in most cases, the patches may become repigmented, but never fully cured.
Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease that causes white patches on the skin due to the loss of normal skin pigment called melanin. It occurs when the cells that give your skin its color are destroyed. These patches can also affect the eyes, mouth, and nose. Vitiligo tends to run in families and usually starts before the age of 40 years.
