Introduction
Meganix CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Directions for Use
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
How it works
Meganix CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Meganix CV Dry Syrup can sometimes interact with other medications or substances. It is important to inform your child's doctor about all other medications they are taking before starting Meganix CV Dry Syrup. Always consult your child's doctor before administering any medication to your child.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Meganix CV Dry Syrup?
While antibiotics generally do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines, it is recommended that children on antibiotics avoid receiving them until they recover from any illness. Once your child feels better, their doctor can determine if a safe time to receive a vaccine exists. Always consult your child's doctor before administering any medication.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Meganix CV Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Periodically, the doctor may monitor kidney and liver function in children receiving prolonged treatment with Meganix CV Dry Syrup to assess their condition.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Meganix CV Dry Syrup to my child?
Giving a higher than the recommended dose of this medicine can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences an increase in symptoms, it is important to consult their doctor for re-evaluation.
Can I stop giving Meganix CV Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
No, do not stop giving this medicine to your child unless the full course of treatment is complete. The symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured. Therefore, continue administering the medication for the prescribed duration as it may continue to have beneficial effects.
Can the use of Meganix CV Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Meganix CV Dry Syrup may cause diarrhea. As an antibiotic, it kills harmful bacteria, and also affects the helpful bacteria in your child's stomach leading to diarrhea. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water or other fluids if experiencing diarrhea. Consult your doctor immediately if diarrhea persists or you notice signs of dehydration like a decreased urination frequency with dark-colored and strong-smelling urine. Never administer any other medication to your child without consulting a doctor.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most times, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. In fact, administering antibiotics during a viral infection increases the risk of side effects in your child. Only administer antibiotics after consulting with your child's doctor.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green nasal discharge does not necessarily indicate the need for antibiotics in a common cold. During a typical common cold, nasal discharge often thickens and changes color, from clear to yellow or green. Symptoms typically last for 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
You should call your child's doctor immediately if your child experiences serious allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, skin rash), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting). These rare side effects require urgent expert attention.
