Megalax Laxative Syrup is a liquid preparation that contains liquid paraffin and magnesium hydroxide. Magnesium hydroxide, also known as milk of magnesia, is an inorganic compound that increases the osmotic gradient in the gut, stimulating peristalsis and resulting in efficient bowel movement. Liquid paraffin is a highly purified mineral oil that improves lubrication and aids in smooth bowel movement. Megalax Laxative Syrup is indicated for bowel clearance before radioscopy and for relief of constipation, a common problem in the elderly.

Shake well before use. Take Megalax Laxative Syrup with lukewarm water in the evening.
