Megabend Oral Suspension is a medication used to treat parasitic worm infections in children.
Oral Suspension
Megabend Oral Suspension is effective against a range of parasitic worm infections in children. It restrains the worms from absorbing the body's essential nutrients, causing them to lose their energy and leading to their eventual death. The dead worms are then removed from your child's body through the stool.

Worms enter inside your child's body when your child eats or drinks something that's infected with a worm or its eggs. Once inside the body, these worms get attached to the inner walls of the intestines and can even enter other body organs. Megabend Oral Suspension works by keeping the worms from absorbing sugar (glucose), thereby depleting their energy level. This causes the worms to die, thereby treating your child's infection.

So, your doctor may recommend treatment for all family members on the same day, whether or not they have any symptoms of infection. Some self-care measures: Do not give raw or undercooked food to your child. Instead, give a balanced diet containing herbs, fruits, and spices of therapeutic value. Encourage your child to wash their hands with soap and water every time they use the toilet as that will help prevent cross-infection. Trim your child's nails frequently to disable any source of worm infection. Maintain a neat space and hygiene around your child.
If your child complains of an itchy bottom (rectal area), difficulty sitting, fatigue, and restless sleep due to anal itching or persistent stomach pain with loss of appetite or frequent indigestion, it might indicate a worm infestation. Another sign of worm infection is pica, where you may notice your child eating inedible substances like mud. If you see any of these signs in your child, talk to their doctor as soon as possible. The doctor may ask for stool and blood samples over 3 days for examination. Depending on the results, the doctor will determine the treatment and prescribe appropriate medication for your child.
Children are most commonly affected by worm infections. Infection can be spread from worm eggs found in human feces that contaminate soil in areas with poor sanitation. Transmission can occur through drinking contaminated water or by eating fruits and vegetables without washing them. Your child may also get infected while playing in the soil that is contaminated with worm eggs. When your child returns home after playing, ask them to clean up using soap and water.
Deworming involves killing and expelling intestinal worms from the body. Megabend Oral Suspension is commonly used for deworming treatment in children.
You can give your child pain relief or fever-reducing medications unless your doctor has instructed otherwise. However, there are some medicines that should not be given alongside Megabend Oral Suspension. For the safety of your child, talk to their doctor before giving any other medication to ensure there are no adverse interactions.

Megabend Oral Suspension should not be given to children who have known allergies to albendazole or any other similar medications like mebendazole or thiabendazole. Signs of an allergic reaction can include skin rashes, difficulty breathing, and swelling of the face or tongue. Before giving the medicine, tell your child's doctor about all their medical conditions and any other medications they are taking. This is crucial to avoid potential side effects.
