Mefudic Tablet is a combination of three medicines: furazolidone, metronidazole, and dicyclomine. Furazolidone and metronidazole are antibiotics that work by stopping the growth of bacteria and other diarrhea-causing microorganisms. Dicyclomine is an anticholinergic that works by relaxing the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). By doing this, it relieves cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort.
Take it at the same time every day to help you remember to take it. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It may cause dizziness. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools. It is advisable to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water to overcome medicine side effects.
