Frequently asked questions
What is Medibal 1500 Injection?
Medibal 1500 Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient crucial for the body to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also aids in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
You may obtain vitamin B12 through sources like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, vegetarians or vegans may lack adequate intake of vitamin B12 due to its absence in plant-based foods such as fruits, vegetables, and grains. This often leads to deficiency in individuals following a vegetarian or vegan diet.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can manifest through symptoms like tiredness, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an increase in red blood cell size). It may also lead to nerve problems such as numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other potential signs include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and a sore mouth or tongue.
Is Medibal 1500 Injection safe?
Medibal 1500 Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, it's possible to experience rare side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or rash. If a rash occurs, discontinue the medication immediately.
How should Medibal 1500 Injection be given?
Medibal 1500 Injection can be administered intravenously (directly into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The typical dosage is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Medibal 1500 Injection), given three times a week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Medibal 1500 Injection) is administered once every one to three months for maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken when administering Medibal 1500 Injection?
When administering Medibal 1500 Injection, avoid injecting it at the same site repeatedly. If you experience intense pain or blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert it at a different location.
