Dry Syrup
Meddyclav CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
Meddyclav CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Your child may have a bitter taste in the mouth after the intake of Meddyclav CV Dry Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Meddyclav CV Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not give Meddyclav CV Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses. Never save medicine for future illnesses. Check ‘expiry’ before giving Meddyclav CV Dry Syrup to your child. Immediately discard all the expired medicines. Stop Meddyclav CV Dry Syrup immediately if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty. Report to the doctor without any delay.
It's essential to inform your doctor about any other medications your child is taking before starting Meddyclav CV Dry Syrup. This will help prevent potential interactions and ensure safe co-administration.
In most cases, antibiotics like Meddyclav CV Dry Syrup do not interfere with vaccines or cause a bad reaction. However, it's recommended to delay vaccination until your child has fully recovered from the illness and is no longer taking antibiotics.
Regular monitoring of kidney and liver function tests may be necessary during prolonged therapy to ensure your child's condition remains stable and to catch any potential issues early.
It is not advised to exceed the recommended dosage of Meddyclav CV Dry Syrup, as this can increase the risk of side effects. If you're concerned about your child's symptoms, consult with their doctor for further evaluation and guidance.
Do not discontinue Meddyclav CV Dry Syrup unless the full course of treatment has been completed, even if your child feels better. This ensures that the infection is fully cleared and prevents any potential relapse.
Yes, Meddyclav CV Dry Syrup may cause diarrhea due to its antibiotic properties affecting the helpful bacteria in your child's stomach. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water or other fluids if they experience diarrhea. If symptoms persist or you notice signs of dehydration, consult with a doctor.
Most of the time, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. Antibiotics should only be used under the guidance of your child's doctor to prevent unnecessary side effects and ensure effective treatment.
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily indicate the need for antibiotics, as this can be normal during a common cold. Symptoms usually last 7-10 days and may subside on their own.
If your child experiences serious allergic reactions (breathing problems, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting), seek immediate medical attention. These side effects are rare but require expert care.
