Mecosys 500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that the body needs to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also helps release energy from food and work with vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
Vitamin B12 is found naturally in some foods, such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, vegetarians or vegans may not be getting enough because they don't consume animal products like milk, cheese, or eggs. This can lead to deficiency.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause fatigue and weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (large red blood cells). Other symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, soreness of the mouth or tongue.

The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Mecosys 500mcg Injection) and it's usually given 3 times a week after the initial course of treatment. After 2 months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Mecosys 500mcg Injection) is given every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken when administering Mecosys 500mcg Injection?
Do not inject Mecosys 500mcg Injection into the same site each time. If you experience intense pain during injection or blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-inject at a different site.
