Vitamin B12 can be obtained from sources like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, vegetarians or vegans may not get enough Vitamin B12 as it is not naturally found in foods such as fruits, vegetables, and grains.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to symptoms like tiredness, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become larger than normal), and nerve problems such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Additionally, other symptoms may include problems with balance, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.

The usual dose of Mecophar 1500 Injection is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg) given intravenously or intramuscularly, and it should be administered three times a week for the initial two months. Subsequently, maintenance therapy involves administering 1 ampoule every one to three months.
It is essential to avoid injecting the medicine at the same site each time and to re-insert the needle at a different location if intense pain occurs or blood flows back into the syringe during administration.
