Frequently asked questions
What is Mecobee Injection?
Mecobee Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient necessary for red blood cell production and maintaining a healthy nervous system. It also aids in energy release from food and utilizes vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 through my diet?
You can obtain vitamin B12 from animal-derived products such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy. However, those who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may not get enough vitamin B12, as it is not found naturally in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, vitamin B12 deficiency is commonly observed in individuals following these dietary choices.
What happens if I experience vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become abnormally large). It may also cause nerve problems such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, memory impairment, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Is Mecobee Injection safe?
Mecobee Injection is generally well-tolerated with a low incidence of adverse reactions. However, rare side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash. If a rash occurs, discontinue use immediately.
How should Mecobee Injection be administered?
Mecobee Injection can be administered either intravenously (into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The standard dosage is 1 ampoule containing 0.5 mg of Mecobee Injection, administered three times per week. After two months, the dose is reduced to 1 ampoule every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions should be taken when administering Mecobee Injection?
Avoid injecting at the same site repeatedly. If intense pain occurs during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert at a different site.
