Frequently asked questions
What is MB 12 Injection?
MB 12 Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that the body requires for producing red blood cells and maintaining a healthy nervous system, as well as releasing energy from food and utilizing vitamin B11 (folic acid). It also plays a role in various other bodily functions.
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
Vitamin B12 is naturally found in some foods like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, vegetarians or vegans may not get enough vitamin B12 because it isn't present in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, a deficiency of Vitamin B12 is common in people who follow these diets.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (where red blood cells become abnormally large). It may also lead to nerve problems like numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include balance problems, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and sores in the mouth or tongue.
Is MB 12 Injection safe?
MB 12 Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, some individuals may experience rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash. If you experience a rash while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately.
How should MB 12 Injection be given?
MB 12 Injection can be injected directly into a vein (intravenously) or into a muscle (intramuscularly). The typical dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of MB 12 Injection) and is administered three times per week. After two months, administer 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of MB 12 Injection) every one to three months as part of ongoing maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken while administering MB 12 Injection?
Avoid injecting MB 12 Injection at the same site each time. If you experience severe pain during injection, or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-inject at a different location.
