Introduction

Mavigain 5 Solution should only be applied directly to the scalp area in the amount and in the way specified on the label or by your doctor. Clean and dry your scalp before using it. It may take several months before you notice any hair growth and the first growth may be soft, colorless, and barely visible. Using more than recommended will not speed up hair growth and may cause dangerous side effects. This medication must be used continuously to maintain hair growth. If your condition does not improve or worsens after using it for 4 to 6 months, tell your doctor.

Mavigain 5 Solution is a combination of two hair growth promoters: Minoxidil and Aminexil. Minoxidil is a vasodilator, meaning it widens the blood vessels and provides better blood flow to the hair follicles. This prevents hair loss and stimulates re-growth resulting in longer, thicker, and increased numbers of hair. Aminexil suppresses an enzyme which causes buildup of a protein (collagen) around the hair follicles leading to hair loss.

Mavigain 5 Solution is used to increase hair growth and prevent further hair loss. Do not shampoo your hair or use a hairdryer for 4 hours after applying Mavigain 5 Solution as it can reduce the effectiveness of the medicine. Take care that Mavigain 5 Solution does not trickle down onto your face as it may cause undesirable facial hair growth. Your hair growth may start to improve within a few months, although it can take up to a year or so for you to notice the full benefit. During the first 2 weeks of application, your hair fall may increase. This is normal and is a sign that Mavigain 5 Solution is working.
