Matibal Plus 1500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required by the body to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and utilizing vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Vitamin B12 is found naturally in meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. Vegetarians and vegans may lack Vitamin B12 due to its absence in plant-based foods such as fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, deficiency of vitamin B12 is common in these groups.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormal increase in red blood cells). It can also cause nerve problems like numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, mouth or tongue soreness.
Matibal Plus 1500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, in rare cases, side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash have been reported. If a rash occurs, discontinue use immediately.

The usual dose is 0.5 mg of Matibal Plus 1500mcg Injection, and it's given 3 times a week. After two months, the dose is reduced to 0.5 mg every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
