Martifur Tablet is an antibiotic that fights bacteria. It is used to treat and prevent bacterial infections of the urinary tract. It works by killing the bacteria that cause such disease. But, it will not treat a viral infection.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Martifur Tablet is to be taken with food.

Consuming alcohol while taking Martifur Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
Martifur Tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Martifur Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Take it with food to avoid nausea which is a common side effect. It can turn your urine a dark yellow or brown colour. This is normal and nothing to worry about. Do not take it for longer or more often than prescribed by your doctor.
