Frequently asked questions
What is Lxdan Drop used for?
Lxdan Drop is generally administered before major surgeries or chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions. It's prescribed to prevent vomiting in these situations. If your child needs this medication during a stomach illness, their doctor may prescribe it for several days. Always follow the recommended dosage for optimal results.
What if my child takes too much Lxdan Drop?
While accidental overdose of Lxdan Drop is unlikely to cause harm, it's crucial to inform your child’s doctor immediately. Excessive intake can potentially lead to serious side effects, including excessive sleepiness, agitation, rapid heartbeat, hypertension, flushing, dilated pupils, sweating, involuntary muscle jerks, uncontrolled eye movements, overactive reflexes, and seizures. These symptoms are collectively known as serotonin syndrome. If you notice any of these signs, seek immediate medical help from your doctor.
How should Lxdan Drop be stored?
Lxdan Drop should be stored at room temperature, in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Additionally, keep all medications out of reach of children to prevent accidental intake.
What all medicines should my child avoid while taking Lxdan Drop?
It is generally advised not to administer Lxdan Drop alongside antidepressant medications, apomorphine, anti-migraine medication, painkillers, heart medications, and antibiotics like linezolid. However, before making any final decisions regarding medication combinations, consult with your child's doctor. It’s essential to share your child’s complete medical history with their doctor for proper guidance.
In what conditions do I need to call my child’s doctor right away?
Call your child's doctor immediately if they develop symptoms of serotonin syndrome such as an irregular heartbeat, green-colored vomiting, difficulty passing gas, pale skin and eyes, dark-colored urine, restlessness, and insomnia.
My child is having a migraine and is on medication. Can I give Lxdan Drop along with it?
Avoid combining Lxdan Drop with these types of medications because simultaneous use of Lxdan Drop with depression or migraine treatment medications can cause serotonin syndrome. Always consult your child's doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
