Introduction

Luporal Capsule is a combination of two anticancer medicines that is used in the treatment of cancer of the colon and rectum. It should be used in the dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. It is advised to take this medicine at a fixed time. This medicine should not be taken more than the recommended dose. If you miss any dose, please consult your doctor. It is advised to complete the treatment without any interruption. This medicine is usually well tolerated by patients.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Luporal Capsule may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Luporal Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Tegafur and Uracil which treat cancer. They work by interfering with the growth of DNA and RNA of cancer cells by substituting their building blocks. This prevents the cancer cells from growing and multiplying.

Luporal Capsule is used for the treatment of cancer of the colon and rectum. Avoid the use of antacids within 2 hours of taking this medicine. Drink plenty of water every 24 hours after the start of the treatment. You may be at risk of infection so try to avoid crowds or people with colds and report fever or any other signs of infection immediately to your doctor. To help treat/prevent mouth sores use a soft toothbrush and rinse your mouth at least 3 times a day with saline water. To reduce nausea take anti-nausea medications as prescribed by your doctor and eat small frequent meals. Eat foods that may help reduce diarrhea and take adequate rest.
