Frequently asked questions
What is Lukobal 1000mcg Injection?
Lukobal 1000mcg Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient necessary for the body to produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in energy production from food and utilizes vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can’t I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
Vitamin B12 can be obtained through meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. Vegetarians or vegans may experience a lack of vitamin B12 as it is not naturally present in fruits, vegetables, and grains. This can lead to vitamin B12 deficiency.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency may cause fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become larger than normal). Additionally, it can lead to nerve problems such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms may include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, memory impairment, and a sore mouth or tongue.
Is Lukobal 1000mcg Injection safe?
Lukobal 1000mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects may occur such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash. If a rash develops, discontinue taking the medicine immediately.

Lukobal 1000mcg Injection can be injected into a vein (intravenously) or muscle (intramuscularly). The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Lukobal 1000mcg Injection) and it is administered three times per week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Lukobal 1000mcg Injection) is given every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken when administering Lukobal 1000mcg Injection?
