It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive. Linezolid is also an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Lactic acid bacillus is bacteria. It promotes the growth of good bacteria in the gut for proper digestion.
