Lexof O Plus Oral Suspension contains two medicines: Racecadotril and ofloxacin. Racecadotril is an enkephalinase inhibitor that has anti-secretory effects. This means that this medicine reduces the secretion of water and electrolytes from the intestine. As a result, the amount of fluid lost from the body in diarrhea reduces. On the other hand, Ofloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and causing infection.
Loose, watery diarrhea can lead to loss of fluids and essential salts from your child's body. Make sure to replenish this in the form of ORS (Oral rehydration solution) to combat dehydration. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Lexof O Plus Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Give Lexof O Plus Oral Suspension only for whom it is prescribed. Never share the medicines as it can harm. Do not mix Lexof O Plus Oral Suspension along with any other herbal or ayurvedic medicine as that may cause unwanted side effects. Do not give Lexof O Plus Oral Suspension if your child has persistent uncontrolled vomiting as this medicine will not be absorbed.
