Leukocel 500mg Capsule can be taken with or without food, but try to have it at the same time every day to get the most benefits. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Leukocel 500mg Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
In cancer, Leukocel 500mg Capsule works by blocking an enzyme (ribonucleotide reductase) which is required for synthesis of DNA. This prevents the cancer cells from growing and multiplying. In sickle cell disease, it works by increasing fetal haemoglobin (HbF) levels in red blood cells (RBCs). This helps the RBCs assume a normal shape, improves blood flow and protects against complications such as painful sickle cell episodes.

However, consistent water intake is crucial to prevent dehydration, and eating small, simple, but nourishing snacks every few hours instead of large meals might be beneficial. This treatment may pose a risk to an unborn child in the womb. To prevent pregnancy, it's crucial to abstain from having sexual intercourse or becoming pregnant for at least six months following treatment and discuss appropriate contraception with your healthcare provider before starting the medication.
Taking this medication may lead to brittle, broken hair. You might also experience patchy hair loss or thinning. These conditions typically resolve once treatment is discontinued. Be gentle when brushing and washing your hair to mitigate hair loss.
Use a moisturizer for relief from rashes and dry or itchy skin. To prevent further irritation, avoid direct sunlight, wear protective clothing, and apply sunscreen (SPF 15+) outdoors whenever you're outside. Avoid swimming if you have a rash as chlorine in the water could worsen it. Stay away from hot water baths and wear loose-fitting, cotton clothes. Your skin should improve with treatment cessation.
To alleviate constipation, incorporate fiber into your diet through fruits and vegetables while drinking 8-10 glasses of fluids daily. Moderate activity can also be beneficial for bowel function. If constipation persists after a few days, you may consider a stool softener (prescribed by your doctor) once or twice a day.
Since Leukocel 500mg Capsule lowers white blood cell and platelet counts, it increases the risk of infections. To prevent this, avoid contact with individuals who have active infections. If you suspect an infection or experience a fever, chills, seek immediate medical attention from your doctor.
