This is done by blocking the enzyme aromatase, which is responsible for producing estrogen. Estrogen can stimulate certain types of breast cancer growth. By reducing estrogen levels, Letroset 2.5mg Tablet may help prevent cancer from growing.
The duration of Letroset 2.5mg Tablet therapy depends on the stage and spread of breast cancer: - If the tumor is in an advanced stage or has spread, the treatment continues until the tumor shows progression. - After tamoxifen (another anti-estrogen) or surgery, treatment typically lasts 5 years, or until the tumor comes back, whichever comes first. It can also be given as a sequential treatment: 2 years of Letroset 2.5mg Tablet followed by 3 years of tamoxifen.
