Introduction
Laxator is a liquid preparation indicated for relief from constipation. It contains two active ingredients: milk of magnesia and liquid paraffin. Milk of magnesia, a solution of magnesium hydroxide, counteracts excess acid in the stomach and acts as an osmotic purgative, drawing water into the intestinal lumen to aid bowel movement. Liquid paraffin, a pure mineral oil, softens stools, helping to empty the bladder completely. Laxator syrup is used to relieve constipation, particularly before a surgical or diagnostic procedure that requires emptying of the gastrointestinal tract.
Directions for Use
Take 15 mL of Laxator syrup, preferably in the evening, or as directed by your physician.
