Frequently asked questions
What is Lavineuro 2500mcg Injection?
Lavineuro 2500mcg Injection contains Vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required for the body to produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system, and it also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can’t I get sufficient Vitamin B12 in my diet?
Vitamin B12 is naturally found in foods like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, vegetarians or vegans may have difficulty obtaining sufficient vitamin B12 because it's not present naturally in plant-based foods such as fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, a deficiency of Vitamin B12 is commonly observed in individuals who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause tiredness, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become larger than normal). It can also lead to nerve problems such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms may include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, memory impairment, and soreness in the mouth or tongue.
Is Lavineuro 2500mcg Injection safe?
Lavineuro 2500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated. However, rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash have been reported in some cases. If you experience a rash after using this medication, stop taking it immediately.
How should Lavineuro 2500mcg Injection be given?
Lavineuro 2500mcg Injection can be injected directly into a vein (intravenously) or muscle (intramuscularly). The standard dosage is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Lavineuro 2500mcg Injection), and it's administered three times per week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Lavineuro 2500mcg Injection) should be given every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken when administering Lavineuro 2500mcg Injection?
Do not inject the medication in the same location each time. If you experience intense pain during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert at a different site.
