It typically takes 2-3 days to experience the benefits of treatment. However, if you continue experiencing constipation after this period, consult your doctor.
What is Lactofresh Syrup used for?
Lactofresh Syrup is indicated for treating constipation characterized by infrequent bowel movements, hard and dry stools. It can also be utilized in patients with hepatic encephalopathy, a serious liver problem that presents with confusion, tremors, and decreased level of consciousness.
Is Lactofresh Syrup a laxative?
Yes, Lactofresh Syrup is a form of laxative. It softens stools by drawing water from the body to the large intestine. It also helps reduce ammonia levels in patients with liver disease.
What are the side effects of taking Lactofresh Syrup?
Lactofresh Syrup commonly causes diarrhea, flatulence, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Diarrhea and abdominal pain can occur due to a high dose; in such cases, reducing the dose is advised. Flatulence may be noticed during the initial days of treatment and may subside over time. Electrolyte imbalance is a less common side effect.
Is it okay to take Lactofresh Syrup every day?
You should take Lactofresh Syrup as prescribed by your doctor. This may include taking it for as long as constipation lasts, potentially up to a week. For hepatic encephalopathy, the treatment duration might extend for several months.
Who should not be given Lactofresh Syrup?

Can I take other laxatives along with Lactofresh Syrup?
