Do not give Kofarest Drop if your child has a dry cough. Give plenty of fluids as it helps to loosen and expel the mucus. Avoid giving dairy and caffeinated products, spicy and fried food to your child as all these may irritate the airways and trigger coughing. A teaspoon of honey may also help to ease out a cough reflex. Ask your child to gargle with warm salt water as it eases the expelling of mucus. Ensure your child takes enough rest.
For your child's safety, do not give them more than one cough or cold medicine at a time unless specifically advised by their doctor. If you're unsure, always consult with your child's doctor before administering any medication.
Never give your child medications formulated for adults, as this can lead to unwanted side effects. Ensure the label is properly checked and strictly follow the prescribed dose if you need to administer a pediatric-specific medication.
In case of an accidental overdose, your child's doctor should be consulted right away. This is because an overdose may exacerbate minor side effects that might require symptomatic treatment.
