Kidogyl DS Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that is effective against a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections.
Syrup
Kidogyl DS Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that is effective against a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections. In children, it is used to treat infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Kidogyl DS Syrup is an antibiotic having ofloxacin and metronidazole as its active ingredients. Both these medicines damage the DNA of the infection-causing bacteria, thus killing it by stopping its growth. This prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
If your child develops diarrhea as a side effect, encourage them to drink plenty of water. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help if your child experiences an altered taste. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Kidogyl DS Syrup as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Discontinue Kidogyl DS Syrup and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.
While an excess dose of Kidogyl DS Syrup won't have any adverse effects, consult a doctor immediately. If you suspect your child might have taken too much of the syrup, seek professional medical advice. Overdosing on this medication can lead to serious complications such as seizures, tremors, severe headaches, sudden weakness, blood cell abnormalities, and irregular heartbeats.
If your child does not see improvement despite completing the prescribed course of treatment with Kidogyl DS Syrup, it may indicate that the medication is ineffective against the underlying bacterial infection. In such cases, consult your doctor. They might prescribe another antibiotic with a more specific action on the bacteria causing the infection.
There is the possibility of interactions between Kidogyl DS Syrup and certain medications or substances. It's crucial to inform your doctor about any existing medication your child is taking before starting Kidogyl DS Syrup. Always consult your doctor for guidance on administering any medicine to your child.
Antibiotics generally do not affect the ingredients in vaccines or cause adverse reactions in children recently vaccinated. However, it's essential to wait for your child's illness to be resolved before administering any vaccine. Once your child feels better, you can administer the vaccine as per your doctor's advice.
Inform your doctor if your child has any pre-existing conditions such as heart disease, genetic disorders affecting blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy (allergic reaction to sunlight), neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. These conditions may be aggravated by Kidogyl DS Syrup, leading to complications.
