The most common side effects of Ketozig 2% Lotion include application site burning, redness, and itching. It is recommended to use a mild steroid ointment like hydrocortisone cream/ointment in the morning and Ketozig 2% Lotion in the evening. You can then gradually stop using the steroid cream over 2-3 weeks. However, if you have used a potent corticosteroid for seborrheic dermatitis, maintain at least a gap of 2 weeks before applying Ketozig 2% Lotion to prevent skin sensitization.
Before applying Ketozig 2% Lotion, wash the affected area thoroughly with water and dry it. Wash your hands carefully after application unless your hands are also affected to prevent the infection from spreading.
The duration of using Ketozig 2% Lotion depends on the advice of your doctor. Generally, it is used for 2-4 weeks for jock itch and sweat rash and 2-6 weeks for athlete's foot. Continue using it even after symptoms disappear to ensure proper treatment.
