No, Ketopro 2% Soap is not a steroid cream. It belongs to the imidazole class of anti-fungal medicines that work by killing or preventing the growth of fungi that cause infection.
Common side effects may include application site burning, redness, and itching. Less common side effects can be discomfort, dryness, bleeding, severe allergic reactions, urticaria or hives, rash, skin exfoliation, sticky skin, prickling sensation, or inflammation.
It is recommended to use a mild steroid ointment like hydrocortisone cream/ointment in the morning and then use Ketopro 2% Soap in the evening. Gradually stop using the steroid cream over 2-3 weeks. If potent corticosteroids were used for seborrheic dermatitis, maintain at least a gap of 2 weeks before applying Ketopro 2% Soap to prevent skin sensitization.
Wash the affected area thoroughly with water and dry it. Wash your hands carefully after applying Ketopro 2% Soap, unless your hands are also affected, to prevent infection spread.
Continue using Ketopro 2% Soap for as long as advised by your doctor. Typical duration is 2-4 weeks for jock itch and sweat rash, and 2-6 weeks for athlete's foot. Do not stop using it even if symptoms disappear because infection may reappear.
If forgotten, continue using Ketapro 2% Soap as soon as you remember. However, consult your doctor if unsure or have other doubts.
