Introduction
Anu Thailam is an Ayurvedic herbal oil used for nasal administration, known as Nasya. It is made with a base of sesame oil that is enriched with various beneficial herbs. According to Ayurveda, Nasya is considered one of the most important holistic self-care practices.
Directions for Use
Nasya should be done on an empty stomach in the morning after brushing and evacuating your bowels, 30 minutes before bath. Massage your face and neck with a few drops of sesame oil, avoiding the eyes. Place a towel over a medium-hot pan till it is slightly warm. Check the temperature and apply it over the face and neck. Lie on your bed, extend your hands and legs, and keep a pillow under your head. Ensure there is not too much sunlight or wind entering the room. Place a container nearby to spit out excess mucus. Place Anu Thailam in a warm bowl of water. After a few minutes, take out the thailam and check that it is sufficiently hot. Instil 1-2 drops of these Ayurvedic nasal drops in each nostril, and continue lying down, face up. When the medicine reaches your throat, spit out the excess mucus.
How it works
The exact mechanism of action of Anu Thailam is not well understood, but it is believed to work by promoting balance in the body and supporting overall well-being.
