Frequently asked questions
Can Kayavate Lotion be used for a long time?
No, Kayavate Lotion should not be used for extended periods. It's typically prescribed for 2 consecutive weeks only. However, the treatment may be longer in cases of chronic (long-term) inflammatory conditions. It is crucial to consult your physician before using this medication.
Does Kayavate Lotion cause severe skin reactions?
Severe skin reactions are uncommon with Kayavate Lotion. It's an anti-inflammatory drug used to treat skin diseases, skin reactions, and eczema. However, some individuals may experience a sensitivity to Kayavate Lotion. Openly exposing the affected area after application is recommended to avoid occlusive dressings (tight, sealed dressings) which can increase the risk of skin reactions. While the medication itself may not be the cause, additives in the medication could lead to a reaction in specific cases. Immediately inform your doctor if you encounter any skin reactions.
Can Kayavate Lotion be used on the face?
No, Kayavate Lotion should not be used on the face. Moreover, it's not recommended for use in the armpits, groin, or areas with tissue atrophy (loss of tissue). In specific circumstances, doctors may consider its use after consultation. The application on the face should be limited to a maximum of 5 days only.
Can Kayavate Lotion be applied to children?
Kayavate Lotion is not recommended for use in children under one year of age. It's also not recommended for use in older children and adolescents, as side effects are more common in these groups. The pediatric population has an increased risk of suppressed immunity, making them susceptible to other illnesses and atrophy. While doctors may sometimes consider using Kayavate Lotion, the treatment is usually limited to 5 days and reviewed weekly.
Can we use Kayavate Lotion in infections?
Kayavate Lotion is not an antimicrobial or antifungal agent. It's a steroid medication. It should not be used in infections as it suppresses the immune system, increasing the risk of complications. Bacterial infections may worsen if the infection area is covered with a dressing after Kayavate Lotion application. If there are signs of infected lesions or spread of infection, consult your doctor immediately. Your doctor will withdraw Kayavate Lotion use and provide appropriate antimicrobial therapy.
Can I stop taking Kayavate Lotion when my symptoms are relieved?
No, do not stop taking Kayavate Lotion and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before your treatment is complete. Stopping Kayavate Lotion before completing the prescribed course can potentially lead to a relapse of symptoms.
Does Kayavate Lotion cause dangerous skin reactions?
Local skin reactions are rare with Kayavate Lotion. It's an anti-inflammatory drug used to treat skin diseases, skin reactions, and eczema. Still, some individuals may experience a sensitivity to Kayavate Lotion. It is essential to leave the affected area exposed after applying Kayavate Lotion to avoid occlusive dressings (tight, sealed dressings) which can increase the risk of skin reactions. If not caused by the medication itself, sometimes these reactions are caused by additives in the medication. Inform your doctor immediately if you encounter any skin reactions.
