Introduction
Kanmoxy DS Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Directions for Use
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
How it works
Kanmoxy DS Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Kanmoxy DS Dry Syrup may interact with certain medications or substances. It is crucial to inform your child's doctor about any other medications they are currently taking before starting Kanmoxy DS Dry Syrup, and always seek their guidance before giving medication to your child.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Kanmoxy DS Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics generally do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause adverse reactions in children who have recently received one. However, for the best results and to avoid complications, it is important to ensure that your child recovers from any illness before getting vaccinated. Once your child's condition improves, you can discuss the possibility of vaccination with their doctor.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Kanmoxy DS Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Regular monitoring is recommended for children who have been on prolonged treatment. This includes periodic evaluation of kidney and liver function to ensure their healthy functioning throughout the therapy.

It is not advisable to administer a dosage higher than the prescribed amount. Increasing the dose can potentially intensify side effects and might be unsafe for your child.
Can I stop giving Kanmoxy DS Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
Absolutely not, discontinue using Kanmoxy DS Dry Syrup only if the doctor has fully instructed you. Even if you notice your child's condition improving, it's crucial to continue taking the full prescribed dosage of the medication.

The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily indicate a need for immediate antibiotic treatment. While common cold symptoms often lead to thick mucus and color change, it usually resolves within 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
Seek immediate medical help if your child experiences serious allergic reactions (breathing difficulties or skin rashes), severe gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea with signs of dehydration like dark-colored and strong-smelling urine), or liver damage (symptoms including weakness, pallor, or vomiting). These are potential side effects that require professional attention.
