Introduction
Kainoxy CL Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Directions for Use
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
How it works
Kainoxy CL Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Kainoxy CL Dry Syrup?
It's essential to inform your child's doctor about any other medications they're taking before starting Kainoxy CL Dry Syrup. Additionally, consult with their doctor before administering any other medication to your child.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Kainoxy CL Dry Syrup?
Typically, antibiotics do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have been vaccinated. However, it's recommended that your child should not receive a vaccine until they have recovered from their illness. Once they feel better, the vaccine can be administered.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Kainoxy CL Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
During prolonged therapy, your child's doctor may conduct periodic kidney and liver function tests to monitor their condition.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Kainoxy CL Dry Syrup to my child?
No, exceeding the recommended dosage can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences increased symptoms severity, consult with their doctor for re-evaluation.
Can I stop giving Kainoxy CL Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
No, do not discontinue treatment unless the full course of therapy is completed, even if your child feels better. Symptoms may improve before the infection is fully cured, and continued treatment is necessary for complete recovery.
Can the use of Kainoxy CL Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Kainoxy CL Dry Syrup may cause diarrhea due to its antibiotic properties. It can also disrupt the balance of helpful bacteria in your child's stomach. If your child experiences diarrhea, encourage them to drink plenty of fluids. Consult with their doctor if symptoms persist or you notice signs of dehydration, such as dark-colored and strong-smelling urine.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most of the time, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. Giving antibiotics in a viral infection can increase your child's risk of developing side effects, so use antibiotics only after consulting with their doctor.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily mean antibiotics are needed. During a common cold, it's normal for mucus to thicken and change color; symptoms often last for 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
If your child experiences serious allergic reactions (breathing problems, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting), call their doctor right away. These side effects are rare but serious and require expert attention.
