Frequently asked questions
What is Juvilet 1500 Injection?
Juvilet 1500 Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is essential for the body to produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can’t I get sufficient vitamin B12 through my diet?
You may not be getting enough Vitamin B12 from your diet if you are vegetarian or vegan. These diets don't typically contain this nutrient naturally like other types of food. Therefore, individuals following a vegetarian or vegan diet might develop a deficiency in Vitamin B12.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency may cause tiredness and weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an increase in red blood cells that can be a sign of a deficiency). This can also lead to nerve problems such as numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other possible symptoms include problems with balance, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and sores in the mouth or tongue.
Is Juvilet 1500 Injection safe?
Juvilet 1500 Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects may occur such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or rash. Discontinue using this medicine immediately if you experience a rash.
How should Juvilet 1500 Injection be administered?
Juvilet 1500 Injection can be injected into a vein (intravenously) or into a muscle (intramuscularly). The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Juvilet 1500 Injection), and it's administered 3 times per week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Juvilet 1500 Injection) is given every one to three months for maintenance therapy.
What precautions should be taken when administering Juvilet 1500 Injection?
Do not inject the medication at the same site every time. If you experience intense pain during injection, or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert it at a different location.
