Joxin 0.3% Eye Ointment is an antibiotic used in the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye. It relieves the symptoms of the infection by stopping the further growth of the causative microorganisms.
This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the tube close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the tube and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid.
Joxin 0.3% Eye Ointment is an antibiotic. It treats bacterial eye infections by preventing the bacteria from dividing and repairing. It does so stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase.
Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the medication. Do not touch the tip to any surface or to your eye to avoid contamination. Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution. Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up. Joxin 0.3% Eye Ointment may cause short term blurring of vision when first used. Use caution before driving or using machines. Make sure to use Joxin 0.3% Eye Ointment within 4 weeks of opening the medication.
Joxin 0.3% Eye Ointment should not be used for more than 7 days, unless your doctor tells you to. Prolonged use may lead to bacterial resistance and make the medication less effective.
This eye drop can be used alongside other eye drops if prescribed by your doctor, but maintain a 10-15 minute interval between each application.

Most eye infections may show improvement within 2 days, but it's essential to follow your doctor's instructions for the duration of treatment.
Before starting treatment, notify your doctor if you experience any vision problems, severe eye pain, recent eye injuries, or a history of conjunctivitis, dry eyes, or glaucoma.
Always wash your hands before and after using Joxin 0.3% Eye Ointment to prevent the spread of infection. Remove the cap just before application, replace it immediately after use. Avoid touching the bottle's nozzle with your fingers; tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid. Hold the bottle over your eye and allow a single drop to fall into the space between your lower lid and your eye. Close your eye and gently press your finger over the inside corner of your eye for 1 minute.
Do not wear contact lenses while using Joxin 0.3% Eye Ointment. You can reinsert your lens 15 minutes after applying the medication.
Stinging, burning, itching, and irritation are possible side effects of this medicine, but these usually subside over time.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take extra medication to make up for the missed dose; consult with your healthcare provider.
If a few drops of Joxin 0.3% Eye Ointment accidentally falls into your eye, do not worry and notify your doctor if you experience any side effects.
You do not need to refrigerate Joxin 0.3% Eye Ointment after opening the bottle, but store it at a cool and dry place below 30℃, and use it within four weeks of opening.
Close your eyes for at least 2-3 minutes to allow the medication to be absorbed into the eye.
