Jox O Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that is given to children to effectively treat a wide range of bacterial infections that may occur in the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal infections, urinary and genital tract.
Only give Jox O Syrup to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
Jox O Syrup is an antibiotic consisting of ofloxacin and ornidazole as its active ingredients. Both these ingredients tamper the bacteria's DNA. Thus it kills the infection-causing bacteria stopping the infection and the bacteria from growing further without making them resistant to further treatment.
Diarrhea is a common side effect of Jox O Syrup. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case it develops. Your child may have an altered taste or furry tongue (coating of Jox O Syrup on tongue) after taking Jox O Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Do not give any calcium magnesium iron vitamin or antacid within 2 hours of taking Jox O Syrup as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Quit giving Jox O Syrup and speak to the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash itchy skin swelling of face and mouth or has difficulty in breathing. Only give Jox O Syrup to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses. It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Jox O Syrup as it may irritate your stomach and also cause excessive drowsiness. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
Jox O Syrup may interact with some cough & cold medications. One of the active ingredients in Jox O Syrup can interact with alcohol-containing medicines like cough syrups and cause adverse effects. Always consult your doctor before giving any medication to your child, including Jox O Syrup.
