Jimox LB 625 Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Amoxycillin, Clavulanic Acid, and Lactobacillus. Amoxycillin is an antibiotic that works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Amoxycillin against bacteria. Lactobacillus is added to restore the balance of healthy bacteria.
Jimox LB 625 Tablet is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergic reactions to any penicillin. It's also avoided in patients with a previous history of cholestatic jaundice/liver dysfunction associated with the medicine.
Jimox LB 625 Tablet can be taken every 8 hours or every 12 hours, depending on the prescribed dose by your doctor. No, complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It's common to feel better early in the therapy course. However, skipping doses or not completing the full course may reduce the medication's effectiveness and can increase the risk of resistance by bacteria.
If you have had an allergic reaction to one type of penicillin, you may experience a reaction to ampicillin or some cephalosporins. However, this is not always the case. It's essential to inform your doctor about any penicillin allergies before starting treatment.
