Ivimic I Oral Suspension is an anti-worm medicine used to treat roundworm and tapeworm infections in children.
Oral Suspension
Ivimic I Oral Suspension is an anti-worm medicine given to treat a multitude of parasitic worm infestations such as roundworm and tapeworm infections in children. It works by paralyzing and restraining the worms from absorbing the body's energy, leading to their eventual death.
Do not share your child's medicines with others and do not give anyone else's medicine to your child.
Ivimic I Oral Suspension is a mixture of two medicines: Ivermectin and Albendazole. Ivermectin works by binding to the muscle and nerve cells of worms causing their paralysis and death. Albendazole works by keeping the worms from absorbing sugar (glucose) thereby depleting their energy level. This causes the worms to die thereby treating your child's infection effectively.
Do not share your child's medicines with others and do not give anyone else's medicine to your child. Worm infections are easily spread between family members. Your doctor may recommend treatment for all family members on the same day whether or not they have any symptoms of infection. Some self-care tips: Do not give raw or undercooked food to your child. Always give a balanced diet containing herbs fruits and spices of therapeutic value. Encourage your child to wash their hands with soap and water every time they use the toilet as that will help prevent cross-infection. Trim your child's nails frequently to disable any source of worm infection. Maintain a neat space and hygiene around your child. Call your child's doctor right away if the child exhibits signs of allergic reaction like rash itching or any other sign of infection such as fever gum-bleeding black or red stools and blood in urine or vomit.
Your child might have a worm infection if they complain of itchy anal areas, difficulty sitting or staying seated, fatigue with restlessness due to anal itching, persistent stomach pain accompanied by loss of appetite or frequent indigestion. Another sign may be pica, where your child eats inedible substances like mud. Seek immediate advice from your child's doctor if you notice any of these symptoms. The doctor will likely recommend collecting stool and blood samples for examination on three different days to determine the next steps. Treatment may involve prescribed medication based on the results, after evaluation by the doctor.
Ivimic I Oral Suspension can be given at any time of day. Make sure to administer it with a fat-containing food like milk.
Infection with intestinal worms may occur in areas with poor sanitation where soil is contaminated with worm eggs. Your child could be at risk of infection if they play in such contaminated soil. When your child returns home after playing, ensure they wash thoroughly with soap and water to reduce the risk of contamination. Other sources of transmission include drinking contaminated water or consuming fruits and vegetables that have not been washed or peeled.
Store Ivimic I Oral Suspension at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from children and pets to prevent accidental ingestion. Do not freeze the medication.
Contact your child's doctor immediately if they experience vision problems, puffy eyes, or severe itching all over their body. They may also need immediate attention if they experience difficulty walking or standing, trouble breathing, fast heart rate, disorientation, confusion, loss of bowel control, or neck pain shortly after taking Ivimic I Oral Suspension.
